(The hot dogs (and I don’t mean Kemlo) in the picture above were cooked with heat vision) Ha’s art is quirky and original, packed with detail and sneaky little extras that make every page fun. The book is fun, and very, very genre savvy. Slinger herself is a gadget hero known as “Toybox”, her partner is large, blue and invulnerable, and her coworkers run the gamut from walking arsenal Irma Geddon to Sergeant Kemlo Caesar, hyperintellegent cyborg policedog. Top Ten is a procedural police drama set in Neopolis, a city where pretty much everyone is a Science Hero. How would you police such a city? Rookie cop Robyn Slinger is about to find out in her first day as part of Precinct 10! Imagine a city where every citizen, from poorest slum-dweller to corporate honcho, has unusual powers and abilities - not to mention an alter ego and costume. (Alan Moore, Gene Ha, Zander Cannon) (Americas Best Comics (ABC)) (And Top Ten: The Forty-Niners graphic novel)
